Happy St Valentine’s Day

We’ve been asking you over the last week here at the Blog (and on Facebook and Twitter): why do you London Walkers love London? Thanks to all who responded, we’ll post one of our London Lists next week featuring your top five most loveable London things.

In the meantime, thanks to London Walker Angela Baldeck, who sent this via email…

“What do I love about London? All the parks, especially Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. I love that a city like London has so much green space scattered about... you'd be walking along and out of nowhere would pop up a green space or three.

There is a reason why I'll always have a special place in my heart for Kensington Gardens though: this past May, that is where my fiance got down on his knee and asked me to marry him!

I was completely floored, and couldn't believe he had come up with such a perfect spot. As if there wasn't reason enough before, we will definitely be back to enjoy these parks.

Angela (and Jeremy)

PS. Celebrating the engagement will all those London Walks (w/ Richard, Fiona, and several with David – thank you for all those stories and tips!) sure didn't hurt either; they helped make the entire trip special.”

Congratulations Angela and Jeremy! When’s the Big Day? Do send us a pic for the blog!

By way of our own P.S… Angela’s story joins what is gently becoming a romantic tradition here at London Walks. Not so long ago, LW guide Adam witnessed a bona fide proposal of marriage on his East End walk! Read all about it HERE.

Happy St Valentine’s all!

  1. Hi,
I found your blog very entertaining. At our company, we are planning to throw a Valentine's day party this Friday, though we are a little late but hope to have a nice get together for our staff as well as share holders. I am checking sites for some out-of-the-box ideas. Any suggestions...?
    Thank you!

  2. Thanks for your comment Katie. V. simple solution for your party: book a London Walk with London Walks. The main website is and there you will find all the different walks available and the phone number to call to book. Ask for Mary or Fiona or Noel. See you soon.
