The London of Sherlock Holmes 7/8

Part Seven in our series… Looking at London as she was in the pomp of Sherlock Holmes and the prime of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – locations featured in The Canon of 56 short stories and 4 novels.

Fleet Street & Ludgate Circus

Walking London: we heartily approve. In the tale The Resident Patient, during a three-hour (!) perambulation through the metropolis, Holmes and Watson take in (among many other places) Fleet Street (pictured above, at the Ludgate Circus end, early 20th Century).

The Sherlock Holmes movie starring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law is on general release.

The Sherlock Holmes London Walk takes place every Friday at 2.00p.m
