Where In The World No.10: #Connecticut

Where in the World? is our new occasional series in which Adam, The Daily Constitutional’s Editor is logging the locations of his London Walkers.

“We meet people from all over the world, and I thought it would be fun to map them out to create a picture of where our London Walkers (and Daily Constitutionalists) come from.

We’ll be breaking it down by English and Welsh counties, Scottish regions, Irish provinces, U.S States, Canadian provinces, Australian states, European, Asian, African and South American countries. And, of course, by London boroughs.”

It was great to meet the women’s rugby team from the University of Connecticut who had been unlucky to lose to Guildford by only two points the day before. Hope you had better luck at Cheltenham, gals! And thanks for joining our map!

Connecticut in London

J.P Morgan was born in Hartford, Connecticut. The famous capitalist was beaten out of the race to build the London Underground by fellow American Charles Tyson Yerkes. J.P was not amused, railing against Yerkes’s business methods as, "the greatest rascality and conspiracy I ever heard of".

The University of Connecticut Women's Rugby team joined us on a private walk Along the Thames.

A London Walk costs £9 – £7 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
