The #besthotels in London.

In the New Year, London Walks' pen David Tucker will be writing a series of posts on this blog letting us look under the bonnet, beneath the hood of London Walks.

One of his topics will be review websites.

David was inspired to tackle this topic when he received an email offering great reviews on a well-known travel review website in exchange for money.

Here's David…

Tom – our barrister guide – being on holiday last year in deepest England, fell in to conversation with a hotelier, a conversation along these lines.

The hotelier fetched from his office an email he’d been sent from some enterprising youth saying – offering – “if you’ll pay me £100 I’ll write 40 five star reviews for your hotel on Trip Advisor. Or, if you prefer, I’ll write 40 one star reviews about your principal competitors.”

We believe our London Walkers deserve better.

Indeed, we believe our London Walkers KNOW better.

Which is why we're asking you to share your best London hotel recommendations here on the London Walks blog. As a London visitor you can tip us off on the best accommodation – and our London residents can feel free to join in with their favourite hotel bar and restaurant tips. Over the course of the next few months, we'll collate your suggestions and turn them into a page right here on The Daily Constitutional for the use and reference of your fellow London Walkers.

Drop us a line at londonwalksblog@gmail.com, Tweet us @londonwalks or leave a comment below stating simply why you recommend your chosen hotel – price, location, poshness, service, anything.

Our experience, having met many of you "out there" on the streets of London, is that you are a discerning bunch. We look forward to hearing your recommendations.

Thanks
