The Best Museums in #London No.6: The Bank of England Museum @boemuseum

We've canvassed the London Walks guides, asking them to nominate their desert island museum and we'll be posting their responses throughout the month.

As usual, you are more than welcome to join in! Get in touch via Facebook, or Twitter or via the usual email address.

Simon says, simply:

Bank of England Museum. Where else can you pick up a bar of gold?

The Bank of England Museum tells the story of the Bank of England from its foundation in 1694 to its role today as the United Kingdom's central bank.

Opening hours Monday to Friday: 10.00am - 5.00pm (last entry 4.45pm).

Closed at weekends and Public Bank Holidays.

Admission is free.

Here's how to find the Bank of England Museum…

Simon

Simon is James Bond material. He's tall, dark, and easier on the eyes than Pierce Brosnan. Let alone brainier. This is an actor who's tri-lingual, who's lived in Asia and South America, and, for good measure, is a top flight professionally qualified London Blue Badge, Southeast England and Cambridge Guide. And he's also a very nice guy. And as a guide - well, they don't come any better.
