Walk of the Week: Tardis on Thames #DoctorWho

Every Sunday we’ll pluck just one walk from the vast London Walks repertoire and put it centre stage.

You can check out the full schedule at www.walks.com.

But if you only take one walking tour this week, why not make it…

The Doctor Who Anniversary Walk

You kidding me? Of course we are. Celebrating the anniversary of the start of Britain’s favourite Sci Fi show!

And how better than wheel out the ever popular Tardis on Thames – Doctor Who By The River walk. Takes place at 10.45 am on Sunday, November 22. Meeting point is just outside exit 4 of Westminster Tube

And at no little risk of belabouring the obvious, the walk is a celebration of all things Doctor Who. Timed almost to perfection – we're Doctor Who-ing London on the cusp of the Doctor's turning 52! No better way to mark the occasion than to go for a Doctor Who's London stroll with Who super fan, actor Jon Dixon. Who'll – so to speak – look the part, what with his Tom Baker hat and seriously long homemade knitted scarf! It's a trail of tales of Alien Invasions, the moment a space ship crashed into Big Ben – and the great unanswered question – how DO Daleks go to the toilet?! Think you know who started The Great Fire of London? Think again. Think you know it was the Doctor? But which one?? All will be revealed on this galactic adventure – all on the side of the river Thames. So come and celebrate the Birthday of the Doctor and raise a glass – or more fittingly a bag of jelly babies – to the world’s most famous time lord! Happy Birthday, Doctor! Let alone happy re-runs – and returns of course.
