Where In The World? No.40 #Colombia + #plaque366

Where in the World? is our occasional series in which Adam, The Daily Constitutional’s Editor is logging the locations of his London Walkers.

“We meet people from all over the world, and I thought it would be fun to map them out to create a picture of where our London Walkers (and Daily Constitutionalists) come from.

I’ll be breaking it down by English and Welsh counties, Scottish regions, Irish provinces, U.S States, Canadian provinces, Australian states, European, Asian, African and South American countries.”

Adam writes…

Great to meet Julian on the Rock'n'Roll London tour last Friday. Julian came all the way from Colombia because his sister is having a baby in London any day now. Congratulations to New Uncle Julian and all his family!

And our Colombia-London connection? Well the Colombian Embassy is handy for Harrods…

… where Julian could buy a luxury hamper for new baby for a mere £725 (!).

I can also point us in the direction of this plaque (while adding to our #plaque366 series at the same time)…

Pumajero was President of Colombia on two occasions (1934-38 and 1942-45) representing the Colombian Liberal Party. He studied here in London at the London School of Economics. His son Alfonso Lopez Michelson was also president (1974-78). His former London residence can be found near the Colombian embassy…

A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
